Bio-process and Post-Harvest Engineering Student

Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Bio-process and Post-Harvest Engineering at Sokoine University of
Agriculture has been an empowering experience, but it hasn’t been without challenges. As a young woman in engineering, I’ve often faced gender stereotypes and discrimination that made me
question whether I truly belonged in this field.

What kept me going was the support I received from FUES. Through their mentorship and hands-on programs, I found not only technical skills but also the confidence to push back against barriers. FUES helped me see engineering as a powerful way to solve real challenges in agriculture and food systems.

Today, I stand proud as a woman in STEM, determined to break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and use my skills to contribute to food security and sustainability. For me, FUES has been more than an organization—it has been a bridge to possibility.
