Globally. In a unique way, she brought novelty in the field of Nanomedicine by
pioneering Nanomedicine research in Poverty Related Diseases (PRDs) drug
development for TB and Malaria. Her drive and objective has been to use
Nanomedicine’s great potential to revolutionize infectious disease diagnosis and
treatment for the population of the world that is most vulnerable. Prof. Swai has
remained enthusiastic in her Nanomedicine research and with great commitment;
she has directed her professional activities towards multidisciplinary and
technological innovation research and training, to develop the capacity necessary
to accelerate the development of new or improved drugs for treatment and
management of HIV, TB, Malaria and other Poverty Related Diseases (PRDs) of
relevance for Africa. She has used Nanomedicine and brought a level of
innovativeness in the formulation of improved antibiotics for the treatment of
Tuberculosis (TB) and its management in Africa.

Sumbu Meshack's passion for STEM education was sparked by his own personal experiences.
Throughout his time in school, Meshack was disappointed by the lack of practical orientation in
STEM, an inadequate ICT lab, and a shortage of well-equipped science teachers. These limitations left
Meshack feeling unprepared for the future, and he knew that he wasn't alone in his struggles.
Determined to make a positive change in his community, Meshack founded an organization that
supports and inspires students in STEM. With this initiative, he hopes to provide students with the
resources they need to succeed, including access to advanced technology, expert teachers, and
practical learning opportunities. Meshack believes that every student deserves the chance to excel in
STEM, and he's committed to making that a reality. His passion and dedication have made a
significant impact on countless students, and his organization remains a driving force in the
promotion of STEM education today.
